This company, Cervecería Superior Brewery, located in the city of Guadalajara, Jalisco state, had recently undergone a comprehensive quality management and ISO certification project. Nevertheless, there was still evidence of conflict, lack of employee motivation, lack of interpersonal communication as well as problems in planning, organizing and completing the team.
The goals of the IC program include: (i) to achieve a change of mentality in the company’s Quality Assurance Department, towards a more participatory one; (Ii) improving teamwork and communication; (Iii) improving prefectural procedures. 5 deputy managers and 23 employee representatives participated in the program. Organizational participants were distributed to five groups working in parallel on different processes.
A pilot team was set up to move forward faster, and to develop experience in using ORDIC K & IC management tools and techniques, which could then be transferred to other teams. Due to the success of the pilot project, the company decided to develop a video documentary that was used to introduce the rest of the organization units for K & IC management.
