    Why Construction 4.0? The construction industry has generally been labelled as rigid and slow in its response to change.

    The fourth industrial revolution (4IR) presents another moment of change in the global business arena and is dynamically influencing different organisations and their strategic positioning. The myriad potential changes in the construction industry lead to high ambiguity and make it impossible to predict what lies ahead. However, with scenario planning, involved stakeholders can prepare for a variety of possible futures.

    The Fourth Industrial Revolution heralds a series of social, political, cultural, and economic upheavals that will unfold over the 21st century. Availability of digital technologies that were the result of the Third Industrial, or Digital, Revolution, the Fourth Industrial Revolution in Africa still remains very blurred to many African countries, yet regardless of its drive towards transformation it will have a major impact on the construction sector with numerous total change across many construction sectors and aspects of labour.

    There are in existing 100+ BIM standards and guidelines from 15+ countries and existing ISO standards including ISO 19650 for BIM project, ISO 21579 for COBie, ISO 16739 or IFC and ISO 55000 for asset management. To apply these principles and protocls the team must understand BIM Execution Plan and its full deliverable as a living document. The management of the Common Data Environment is a collaborative effort and must not be passed doen on to a document controller, it’s the team’s and clients’ full responsibility to establish the storage, sharing, disseminating and archiving of all project information as one source of truth. Finally, all information at some point must be shared and published while understadning the needs of other professionals on projects while still applying our technological skills.

    We first focus on identifying the dilemmas that concern the leadership team at the corporate, group, personal levels. A personal and group introspection is performed to determine what makes us “out of control”, sad, happy. We proceed to the collective analysis of the causes for these dilemmas.

    Based on the causes, the management and leadership processes are reviewed and redesigned, which among other things include the methods of meetings, decision-making methods, procedures for correcting incorrect texts and continuous improvement and development (individual and corporate) are reviewed and restructured.

    We proceed to the definition of the common Corporate Culture in terms of values, principles and attitudes, and to the evaluation of the Human Capital of the Group company .

    Based on culture, strategy, and human capital, roles, and responsibilities for the company, the group are reviewed and restructured.

    The organizational structure of each company and group is adapted based on the objectives (individual and corporate), the description of the roles, and the available human resources.

    We agree on a plan of action at the corporate, group levels. We identify the individual improvement actions (what to start/stop/continue to do) at the Organizational level (company, group). We monitor its implementation with constant adjustments where and when needed.

    Agile Servant Leader

    Leader: master or servant?

    • Contents: Recent research shows that the “participatory leadership model” has better results than the “well-intentioned authoritarian” and the “authoritarian managerial leadership model”. In addition, the “servant leadership” model proves to be clearly better and leads to higher performance than the “controlling authoritarian model“. The aim of the workshop is through the narrative analysis of hagiographic cuts related to Viticulture, to highlight leadership standards, to compare them with the corresponding modern scientific leadership standards, and to evaluate the possibility of their practical application in today’s ever changing business environment. In this study, the qualitative research method (literature review of modern scientific and ancient leadership models) was combined in a “pioneering” way, with the historical-critical method (analysis of parables of the New Testament related to Viticulture, which is related to Leadership). Specific and comprehensive Principles and Skills of Leadership emerged, which were tested in case study applications in companies such as Shell, Microsoft, and others in different industries, in Greece and abroad. The results from the case studies and the comparison of modern scientific leadership models with the leadership models in the Evangelical Tradition show that the “messages” of the vineyard parables are timely, instructive, easy to understand, effective and practical by business leaders in today’s “Knowledge based Economy”. Furthermore, they can be used as a guide for preparing supervisors – leaders, and for updating leadership training programs.
